Tulsion® Ion Exchange Resins for Liquid Glucose (LG) De-ashing

Highly purified and specifically processed Tulsion® speciality ion exchange resins are extensively used in the sweetener industry to manufacture high quality liquid glucose/dextrose.

Liquid glucose (LG) and dextrose, manufactured from multiple starch sources like maize, potatoes, rice, taro, wheat, tapioca, etc., contains impurities such as ash, colouring bodies and proteinaceous material. These undesired impurities could potentially affect the finished product quality and hence, need to be removed.

  • Removes alkaline earth salts, ionisable organic salts along with amino acids and polypeptides.
  • Improves overall colour stability of syrup through removal of moieties, which may develop colour in long run.

Tulsion® Ion Exchange Resins for HFCS De-ashing

Tulsion® speciality SAC and WBA are used for de-ashing of glucose syrup in HFCS manufacturing. We offer expert advice in selection of appropriate Tulsion® resins, their quantities and operational guidelines based on customer's end product quality requirements, process parameters and operating conditions.

Tulsion® Speciality Ion Exchange Resins for Decolourisation of Re-melt Sugar for Refined Sugar Manufacturing

Raw sugar (C11H22O11), produced from sugarcane is brownish in colour. Specifically processed Tulsion® A-72 MP, Tulsion® A-30 MP and other resins are extensively used by sugar refineries for decolourisation of sugar melt/raw sugar. These are highly macro porous, strong base anion exchange resins (type I), in chloride form. They are designed considering the operating conditions and stringent purity norms of final product. Colours like 2000 ICUMSA can be conveniently treated with Tulsion® speciality resins. High macro porosity of Tulsion® resins ensures adsorption of high molecular weight colourants while the specialised backbone plays an important role in enhancing decolourising efficiency.

Depending on the concentration of colour bodies in sugar melt, one, two or three-stage process are used.
