As true mascots of the company working in the energy and environment space, the Chennai team chose ‘organic farming’ on a weekend with an NGO named Sevalaya. The food cultivated through organic farming at Sevalaya, feeds over four hundred poor students, orphans, old age home residents and many others beneficiaries in need.
To encourage natural cultivation and reduce the adverse impact on health due to indiscriminate use of pesticides and artificially grown fruits and vegetables, 13 members of our Chennai team chose to volunteer in support of organic farming.
These volunteers helped the Sevalaya with manuring, de-weeding, vegetable harvesting, vermicompost, gardening, pot planting. They also extended their help at the Goshala, where the team seamlessly extended their services. They relished the organic food served at the NGO cafeteria and came back deeply satisfied, with a promise to encourage organic farming.
