The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) group of Thermax Power is expanding its client list as more industries outsource the function to focus on their core areas. As on August 11, the group is servicing over 24 power projects, accounting for more than 1700 MW of power project.
The Thermax O&M team manages fuel, water and conditioning chemicals that can critically affect power cost. Maintaining ambient air quality, a statutory requirement, is also part of the contract.
Its recent orders include O&M for an 80 MW captive power plant integrated with a zinc mining operation and for a captive plant of a spinning mill. Both Rajasthan based orders are to take care of O&M in power plants built by Thermax competitors. The zinc plant has a pulverised coal fired boiler and turbine, also supplied by a Thermax competitor.
