Despite the limited presence of Asian companies in South America, Thermax started its wholly owned subsidiary, Thermax do Brasil – Energia e Equipamentos Ltda. in 2003 with a focus on energy and environment solutions. Thermax kick-started the Indo-Brazilian relationship by hosting a series of Brazilian Presidents in India. The company actively participated in the BRIC and IBSA forums.
Today, Thermax has office in São Paulo with a presence across verticals comprising mining, metals, food processing, paper, sugar, ethanol, pharmaceuticals and the retail industry. International chemical and pharmaceutical majors have selected Thermax for industrial solutions in Brazil. These include Demillus textiles, Abbott Pharmaceuticals and Cargill. Reputed local corporates like Petrobras from the petrochemical industry, Veracell, a large paper manufacturer and Usiminas, a major steel manufacturer are all clients of Thermax in Brazil.
Moving ahead, Thermax expects to grow its presence in the country and bring in more sustainable and viable solutions that the company’s clients in Brazil can benefit from.
