World Environment Day celebrations at Thermax
Environment being close to the heart of Thermaxians, the prevailing lockdown did not deter their enthusiasm and participation. This year, we virtually celebrated the World Environment Day on June 5, 2020, with the theme centred on biodiversity – a concern that is both urgent and existential. As we have re-opened our manufacturing facilities and customer sites, employees participated in sapling planting drive within the premises and took a pledge to protect the environment.
Committed to ‘conserving resources and preserving the future’, Thermax launched a learning module for the employees to measure and improve their carbon footprint. It also introduced an initiative for aligning its ongoing efforts with the Sustainable Development Goals throughout the year.
Ahead of the event, the organising team invited employees to participate in several activities – slogan, painting, video making and quiz contests. Close to 300 employees across regions showed enthusiasm and took part in the contests.
Mr. Ashish Bhandari joins the Thermax Group as its Joint MD on 7th April 2020
